What we store

If you create a price alert, we store the email address you gave us and the alert itself — the metal, currency, and the level or percentage you chose. Nothing else.

There are no accounts, so there is no password to store. Browsing the site without creating an alert stores nothing about you.

Why

Solely to send the alert you asked for. We do not send newsletters, marketing or anything you did not explicitly request, and we do not sell or share your address.

An alert does nothing until you click the confirmation link we email you. Until then it sits inactive, which is what stops anyone using this site to send mail to a stranger.

How long

A confirmed alert is kept until you delete it. An alert you never confirmed is deleted automatically after eight days, because an address that never confirmed anything is one we have no reason to hold.

Deletion is a deletion: the row is removed, not flagged as hidden.

Who else sees it

Our email provider processes the messages we send, and our hosting and database providers store the data on our behalf. They act on our instructions only. Nobody else receives your address.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There are no advertising trackers, no third-party scripts that profile you, and nothing that follows you to other sites. That is why you are not being asked to accept anything.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to keep the service running.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it erased. The unsubscribe link in any alert email does the last of those immediately. For anything else, email privacy@troyspot.com.
